Creating a view node

The simplest stream to build uses a view node to examine the contents of the database via a spreadsheet.

To create a view node:

1. Either click on the view node button or select the create - view node command from the node menu.

2. The cursor changes to create mode, indicated by the symbol.

3. Click anywhere on the main workspace to create a view node at that position.

Tip: It is conventional to place the node somewhere to the right of the data source node, as the position would reflect the flow of tasks in the KDD stream.

4. The view node is also displayed in the project tree. Until you have linked it to a data source, the view node is placed under KDD Tasks.

You must link the view node to a data source before you can use the view node to examine the contents of the database.
