Rule Scratch Pad Dialog

The rule scratch pad is used as a temporary storage location when moving rules between nodes. The concept is similar to the standard Windows clipboard, but is internal to WITNESS Miner.

Examples of where the scratch pad can be used:

• The rules resulting from running a discovery node are automatically stored on the scratch pad.
  

• Rules from the scratch pad can be pasted into rule nodes for analysis and editing.
  

• Rules can be exported and imported from WITNESS Miner using a proprietary format or XML.

 

Rules

A list of rules stored on the scratch pad.

 

Import

Import rules from a file on to the scratch pad. Rules can be imported from RUL files (WITNESS Miner format) or XML files.

 

Export

Export rules to a file from the scratch pad. Rules can be exported to RUL files (WITNESS Miner format) or XML files.

 

Delete

Delete the rule selected in the listbox from the scratch pad.
